David O'Reill AKA (Randy Peters) is a 26 year old Irish artist/director from Kilkenny, Ireland. He specializes in stripped down psychedelic and highly chaotic animated shorts that I love because of their unpredictability. He has worked on projects for several pop icons such as U2, Tim and Eric, M.I.A. and Lady Gaga, created animated sequences for such films as Son of Rambow and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, won several prestigious awards, and is the newest geek turned cool guy on the animation scene. His most recent short The External World, premiered at both the 67th Venice Film Festival and 2011 Sundance film festival. One of my favorite of his films Please Say Something, was awarded the Golden Bear at the 2009 Berlin International Film Festival. This guy is definitely someone to watch for in the future.
